Fried onion rings


Prep Time: 15 minutes // Bake Time: 5-20 minutes


  1. Cut onion into approximately 1/4 inch rings
  2. Carefully separate the rings from each other
  3. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper and paprika in a bowl
  4. Coat each onion ring in the flour mixture and set aside
  5. Combine the leftover flour mixture that you coated the onions with and the milk, egg and beat until no lumps remain
  6. Coat each onion ring in the mixture and shake off excess
  7. Coat each onion ring in the breadcrumbs
  8. Fry the onion rings in a fryer or a pot with oil until golden (you can also bake them at 425 for 20 minutes or until golden brown)


  • 1 Onion
  • 1/2 cup of The Greater Knead Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Paprika
  • 1 Egg (or egg substitute)
  • 3/4 cup of dairy-free milk OR try gluten-free beer for a beer battered version!
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • Salt as desired
  • The Greater Knead Breadcrumbs to coat
  • Oil for frying
