Bagel Apple Crisp 1

Apple Filling

-4 medium granny smith apples, peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes

-3/4 cup brown sugar

-1 tsp ground cinnamon

-1/2 tsp salt

-1 tbsp coconut oil

-1/4 cup water

-1 tbsp arrowroot

Crisp Topping

-2 Sweet Note Cinnamon Raisin Bagels

-1/2 cup gluten-free rolled oats

-1/4 cup brown sugar

-1/4 cup melted coconut oil

-Peel and dice the apples.

-Place a large skillet over medium heat and add coconut oil.

-Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and water.

-Reduce heat to medium low. Stir until everything is well combined and let simmer for 3-5 minutes until apples start to soften slightly.

-Add corn starch and stir for 1-2 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.

-Thaw bagels according to directions and then cut into large chunks.

-Add bagels to food processor and process on high for 20-30 seconds. The bagel should still be small pieces, not crumbs.

-Add the bagels to a bowl with brown sugar, oats, and melted coconut oil. Stir to combine.

-Add apples mixture to an 8×8 baking dish. Top with the bagel mixture.

-Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
